Northampton County Republican Unit

Welcome to the Northampton County Republican Unit.

Our organization serves Northampton County, Virginia and our membership is open to everyone.

Our members help organize get out the vote efforts, candidate debates and a wide range of civic activities with the goal of advancing conservative values to our towns, cities, counties, state and our nation.

We welcome new members to our organization and would love to have you come out and participate with us as we work to leave a better America for our children and our grandchildren.

Official Mass Meeting Call

OFFICIAL CALL
Mass Meeting of Northampton County Republican Party Unit Of the Republican Party of Virginia

As Chairman of the Northampton County Republican Party Unit of the Republican Party of Virginia, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, John W. Salm, III, do hereby issue this call for a Mass Meeting to be held at the Little Italy Restaurant, 10227 Rogers Dr., Nassawadox, VA 23413. starting at 7:15 pm, local time on April 12, 2012 for the following purposes listed below.

Registration for the Mass Meeting and conventions delegates will start at 7:00 pm, the evening on the 12th of April at the same location and end at the call to order at 7:15 pm for the Mass Meeting.

Purposes of the Mass Meeting:

• Electing a Unit Chairman;
• Electing members of the Unit Committee as follows: Northampton County Republican Party Unit MEMBERS, RESPECTIVELY.
• Electing up to 19 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Republican Party of Virginia State Convention, to be held on June 16 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, beginning at 10 am, for the purposes of: electing a State Party Chairman, RNC National Committeeman, RNC National Committeewoman, 13 At-Large Delegates and 13 At-Large Alternate Delegates to the RNC Convention, and two At-Large Presidential Electors. Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote per 250 Republican votes for Governor and President at their last election, so that Northampton County Republican Party Unit is entitled to 19 Delegate Votes;
• Electing up to 45 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Second District Convention, to be held on May 12th, 2012 at Princess Anne High School 4400 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462 beginning at 12:00 pm, for the purposes of: electing a District Chairman, three Delegates and three Alternate Delegates to the RNC Convention, a Presidential Elector; and for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before Convention. Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote per 500 Republican votes for Governor and President at their last election, so that Northampton County Republican Party Unit is entitled to 9 Delegate Votes;
• And for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the mass meeting.

Qualifications for Participation

All legal and qualified voters of Northampton County under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

Filing Requirements

Candidates for the election of a unit chairman at said mass meeting shall file a written statement by mail or in person, with a $100.00 non-refundable registration fee made payable to: "Northampton County, Republican Party Unit", to Ralph Orzo, 200 Churchill Downs, Cape Charles, Virginia 23310, which must be received not later than 7:00 pm, March 27, 2012.

There will be no registration fee to participate in this mass meeting. Paid for and authorized by the Northampton County Republican Party Unit
